HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?

Under New York state law you must be 18 years old. Parental consent is not allowed,

no exceptions.

HOW LONG WILL MY TATTOO TAKE?

The time a tattoo will take varies. Size, style, placement and skin type all effect how long a

tattoo will take. I recommend making sure your day is clear.

HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO HURT?

Each person getting a tattoo has a different pain tolerance. I recommend getting smaller pieces

first if you're unsure on how well you will take getting a tattoo.

The location of the tattoo will also affect the amount of pain you may feel.

DOES GETTING A TATTOO HAVE ANY RISK?

The body may form bumps called granulomas around tattoo particles, especially if the tattoo

includes red ink. Tattooing can also cause areas of raised excessive scarring (keloids), if one is prone to them.

Scarring. Unwanted scar tissues may form when getting or removing a tattoo.

Allergic reactions. Tattoo dyes, particularly red dye, can cause allergic reactions, resulting in an itchy

rash at the tattoo site. This may occur even years after getting the tattoo.
